Free Beginner Tennis Clinics – Informational Meeting
Thursday, May 3
5:30 p.m.
W.W. Thomas Tennis Center in Memorial Park (800 S. Church Street)
This is a registration and organizational meeting for free tennis clinics for children ages 6-11 and their parents. The tennis clinics will expose children and their parents to the basic tennis strokes, scorekeeping and informal competition in a lively, low-key atmosphere. Tennis can be a tool that supports life-long healthy living, with many players enjoying the sport until well into their eighties.
The clinics are offered by Asheboro Cultural & Recreation Services and the Randolph Community Tennis Association. For more information, please call the W.W. Thomas Tennis Center at 629-1772.

Walk Thru Asheboro’s Past
Sunday, May 6, 2012

Old Asheboro Cemetery - West Salisbury at White Oak Street
May is when the official Confederate Memorial Day holiday is celebrated in North Carolina, and in conjunction with that observance the focus of this walk will be on Confederate Veterans. The program will combine music that would have been familiar to veterans of the Civil War, participants in uniform and period costume, information concerning the holiday and its observance in Asheboro through the years, and a memorial observance honoring these former soldiers.
For the safety and enjoyment of all, we ask that you please DO NOT bring vehicles into the Cemetery property. There are a number of parking lots in the area in which space should available on Sunday afternoon.
